Just a short update.
This week I struck a hiccup in my home recovery, featuring an ambulance ride back to hospital for an unplanned surgery to the roof of my mouth, and a return stay in intensive care. I’m now recovering in the familiar friendly territory of Plastics Ward and if all goes well I should be back home mid next week.
I’ll save the detailed description of it all until after I get back home. For now I’m focused on my rehab, rest and exercises to regather the progress from the past two weeks. Onwards!
I’d like to say a very special thanks to my first responders on Tuesday morning: Mum, Bron and Maree, who were absolute champions and life-savers for me, doing exactly the right thing, under high pressure.
Hey Nick, really sorry to hear about this set back mate. You’ll come out of this stronger. You’re bloody brave and the most positive person I know. Kia kaha.

Great to have family close by. Thoughts are always you. Life here is continual cancellation of things I was going to because of omicron outbreak, it has really hit schools and outer community in Gisborne now although they reckon not peaking until next week! Meetings replaced by ZOOM meetings and then even they can't place as host down. Love these updates.
