Fundraiser: Summit Challenge 2022
Some very kind and keen friends from my work wanted to do something special to support me. So, they are running a fundraiser, but with a twist: all funds go directly to my favourite charity, The Gillies McIndoe Research Institute.
(The GMRI is focused on making cancer treatment less intrusive, more accessible and more affordable, and I’m an Ambassador for them on a voluntary basis).
For the fundraiser, there is a team of 12 people and 100+ supporters taking on a range of fitness & wellbeing challenges. I see that this weekend, my friend David is set to tackle the Maretai Half Marathon, his second of four sponsored half-marathons in eight weeks. Go David!!
if you’d like to make a donation or simply cheer them on, the link to the fundraiser is here:

Thankyou!

Looking good Nick - great to see the bandage reduced to a slim line model and smaller plasters - progress there. Fascinating video in your earlier post. I had never thought about how many muscle actions are involved in swallowing, but when I concentrate, it's amazing how complex it is. Hope the food gets more interesting and the spluttering sessions reduce, you will get there I know.
What a great thing to do! Really good to see a photo of you, Nick-(it's weird not being able to visit but hopefully we will get to in the near future). Thinking of you as you continue with your recovery and thoroughly enjoy your updates!
