"I bought some powdered water, but I don't know what to add to it." -- Steven Wright
I've just sculled a Peanut Butter Chocolate Bomb, my fourth delicious smoothie for today. Brimming with energy and Good Fats, but low on Bad Fats, these high-energy concoctions have been custom-designed byKath Fouhy to help me sustain my winter diet of mountain running, springboard & platform diving, football and surfing.
The Peanut Butter Chocolate Bomb is a dubiously aromatic blend of drinking chocolate, bananas, skim-milk powder, and milk (like, I bought some skim milk powder, but I didn't know what to add to it, so...) - all crowned gloriously with 2 teaspoons of peanut butter.
The bananas and drinking chocolate aren't a bad pairing, but the peanut butter looks & smells like it's from a used diaper filled with Indian food*. Surprisingly, this modern-day witch's brew tastes quite good, and it certainly keeps me fuelled for running.
My personal favorite is the Monkey Business smoothie: with its star ingredient, a can of Creamed Rice. Creamed rice, which is surely the food of the food gods, is a nutritious source of energy, low in fat, high in calcium and quickly digestible. I order it by the case-pack.
You are what you eat, so I am a 420g can of 99% fat free energy. Puree & simple.
