Pie in the sky
Eating has got a bit trickier in the last couple of days, after the radiation turned up and the party in my mouth went a bit nasty.
(The good news is that Jamie and Ruth, members of my all-star medical team, had a closer look today and have prescribed some stuff to help break up the fights).
But nothing was going to stop me from downing a good old pie. This followed expert dietary advice from Wade in London and Peter in Wellington. Both recommended steak & cheese. I've been a steak & mushroom fan to date, but who am I to argue with the experts?
Off I headed to Trisha's pies on Cambridge Tce. Here's how it rated:
Pie presentation: Excellent. A good looking no-nonsense pie served up in a good honest brown paper bag.
Steak quality: Excellent. Real NZ steak; melt-in-my-mouth texture.
Cheese: Delicious, proper cheese and with the desired nutritional value (ie: cheesy & greasy)
Pastry: Firm, held a nice shape but soft enough to consume with ease.
The overall taste experience: Outstanding. Very satisfying.
But don't just take my word for it. Check out the video evidence...
